Children Camp (Dec 2, 2023)

On December 2, 2023, the Children’s Camp for the church in Petaling Jaya was held under the theme “Character.” Praise and thank the Lord! Amidst the challenges of the pandemic and subsequent lockdown, the church in Petaling Jaya resumed its Children’s Camp, which served a threefold purpose: first, to acknowledge and reward the attendance and  participation of children; second, to recover the children who are meeting irregularly; and third, to gain gospel friends, particularly families connected through the children.

A total of 51 children participated, 22 of whom are gospel friends, accompanied by the presence of serving ones, saints, and parents. The day commenced with two lively emcees leading the children in hymns with actions, singing “Jesus Loves the Little Children.” Following this, the little ones from the toddler group participated in their own games, focusing on the character of Patience, Joy, Exact, and Obedience. The older children formed three groups for station games themed Exact, Fine, and Patience. The serving ones delivered brief lessons before and after each activity.

The camp then concluded with all attendees gathering to hear encouraging words from the elders, followed by a prize-giving session for the children. The children’s joy and excitement were palpable as they received rewards, acknowledging their efforts throughout the year. Witnessing the delight on the children’s faces was a source of encouragement for the serving ones. We thank the Lord for this year’s Children’s Camp. We are thankful to the Lord for the gospel friends who attended! May He bless the word that has been sown into them and gain them for the church!

Below are some testimonies from the saints:

After several years of the pandemic, the Children’s Camps have finally resumed in 2023. I believe the children were looking forward to that day very much. Seeing the children’s participation, I really felt that the Lord was caring for His church. The Lord truly wanted the children to come to Him, that is, to come to the church. The children are the next generation of the church; before the Lord returns, He needs someone to continue His recovery. The number of serving ones this time was also very large. This is surely the Lord who put such a desire within the saints to offer up themselves for the next generation of the church by having a part in the service of the church, thus offering up their bodies. Through the saints serving the children in one accord, everyone learns to function, so that the entire Children’s Camp can run smoothly. I also thank the Lord that this Children’s Camp gained gospel friends and even gave us the opportunity to gain their whole family. May the Lord continue to bless His church through the 2023 Children’s Camp, strengthen His testimony here, and enable every saint to receive grace continually. (CSA)
It was such a joy seeing all the young ones gather once again since our last children camp in 2019. These children though young, are so precious in the Lord’s eyes as they are the future of the Lord’s recovery. It was also refreshing to see some of the gospel friends actively participating in the hymn singing and games. While enjoying themselves outwardly, I believe something of the Lord has been imparted into them inwardly. Meanwhile, I was glad to meet some saints whom I’ve not seen in awhile. Thank the Lord for such an opportunity to coordinate and blend with one another. May the Lord continue to attract these young ones for His economy! (LPSS)
Although the purpose of organizing the children’s camp is to gain and encourage the children, the Lord also caused me to be shepherded through them. They are truly simple people—coming and listening in a simple way, and even simply believing in the God who loves all children. I am very enlightened that our entire Christian life should also be like this, continually coming to the Lord with simple faith. May we all be like little children, being simple people, and continue to take Christ as our reward, goal, and joy! (FTZH)
Praise the Lord! I really thank our Lord for the young people. I enjoyed coordinating with them. Lively, responsibly, and organically coordinated together. What a glorious coordination. Glory be to our Lord! (CLH)
Thank the Lord for the children camp! What left an impression on me is the hymn we sang “Jesus Loves the Little Children.” This hymn reminded me of my childhood growing up in the house of God. Now, seeing the next generation singing the same hymn gives me warmth. Throughout the years there have been ups and downs, yet the Lord still loves us, and He is still the Faithful one, tirelessly working to fulfill His intention of creating man. This encourages me to continue my pursuit in this path despite my shortcomings and failures. May the Lord gain this generation for His coming! (CWX)
