Klang Valley Blending Trip to Thailand (1) (February 25, 2025-March 3, 2025)

There were 21 saints from the churches in Klang Valley, including 16 campus students and 5 serving ones travelled to Bangkok, Thailand. There were 2 brothers and 2 sisters from the church in Petaling Jaya participated in this blending trip. The goal and burden of this trip is to visit and blend with the local campus students, trainees of Full-time Training in Bangkok (FTTB), and the saints in Bangkok at large. During this period of 7 days, the saints had benefited much through the mutual blending, much fellowship and coordination with the local students and serving ones. At the very onset of the trip, they were assigned into small teams in coordination with the trainees to preach the gospel at different campuses. Among which, Mahidol University, Bangkok-Thonburi University and Assumption University. The following are the testimonies of the campus students from Petaling Jaya:

In the blending trip to Thailand, we had the opportunity to preach the gospel in Thailand during the first two days. Before the gospel preaching, I had a lot of anxieties, such as the language barriers etc. When we went out to preach the gospel with the trainees, many people were contacted, but we were rejected by most of them. I shared to my companion what happened during the gospel preaching, and we brought it into prayer. Though I was slightly disappointed, but the Lord gave me a hymn – Hymn #921, stanza 3: “Down in the human heart, / Crushed by the tempter, / Feelings lie buried that grace can restore.” Their rejection of what we preached was not due to themselves, but the Satan behind who took captive of their hearts, blinded their eyes so that they would not know the gospel. May the Lord deepen my understanding and seeing of gospel preaching, not shrinking back due to introspection. So that what is spoken in Luke 4:18-19 can be realized on me:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to announce the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send away in release those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, the year of jubilee.” - Leonard Chia
I am so touched by all the patterns in Thailand. All the sweet testimonies and sharing of the saints really encouraged me. They shared how the Lord personally visited them and how they experienced meeting Him. There are so many saints there who faithfully answered God’s calling – even if it meant leaving their hometown and all they had. They went to a foreign country, learned a whole new language and serve the Lord. I am reminded that in the church, there are saints who have walked this path of serving the Lord, they are our patterns. We are not the first ones. These patterns are not just for me to see but also for me to learn from. I need to grasp the opportunity to give myself to the Lord. ‘And whether one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or one member is glorified, all the members rejoice with it.’ – 1 Corinthians 12:26
In the Body, there is no malice or individualism, but rather nourishing and caring for one another. I truly experienced this through the coordination of the serving brothers, especially when I fell sick – willingness to help and receive help in the Body. Their help is not just for me personally, but because they see that it is a matter of the Body. I see that no matter where I am, my service in the church should not be as shallow as only there to meet man’s need and man’s demand. My service should be before the Lord, for the sake of His body. – Isaac Tan
