There were a total of 114 youths and serving ones who joined the year-end Lower Youth Perfecting in Manjung this year. The burden of the perfecting is twofold, to help the youths in experiencing the divine life and the practical church life and for character training.
In the span of 7 days, youths from localities all over Peninsular Malaysia were gathered together to live a corporate living. They were adjusted, blended, tempered and mingled together with fellow members of the Body of Christ. Through various services, the youths learned to coordinate with one another. With a daily time-table to regulate their living, they were placed in the best environment to redeem their time and be perfected by the Lord together withthose who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. A series of messages covering the believers’ statuses, knowing the Lord and character were spoken in the perfecting.
9 youths from PJ joined the perfecting and below is the overflowing of Christ they gained:
One message which I enjoyed the most was on the “Fisher of Men and Salt of The Earth.” We, the believers are signified as the fisher of men. The world is a sea with its death waters and it is under Satan’s control so we have to be the fisher of men to catch the ones who are in the sea to the kingdom of the heavens. We have to preach the gospel to our friends at school. Always joking around is very dangerous because when you are trying to preach the gospel, your friends will all disregard you (Gen. 19:14). This relates closely to our character on being genuine. We are also the salt of the earth. Salt can kill the germs of corruption and rottenness. We cannot be pillars of salt as this is not useful to the Lord (Gen. 19:26; Luke 17:32). We should always participate in the church life to be built up. Amen!
Throughout this training, I realized I have learned a lot about God as if I have never knew Him before. I enjoy that light is the presence of God, because we have been born of God, we are now light in the Lord and we must walk as children of light (Eph. 5:8). God said, He is light, the ones who follow Him will not be in darkness because darkness cannot overcome light (John 1:5). Therefore, we should learn to live in the presence of the Lord, contact Him, contain Him, express Him and be one with Him, so that we can live in the light.
I enjoy the message on “Knowing the Lord”. We have a Lord who listens to our prayer. Romans 10:12b says, “The Lord is rich to all who call upon Him.” He is living in us, we can always turn to Him anytime and anywhere. This is our privilege as Christians, and our prayers will be answered! The Lord Jesus understands our every situation. When we face problem, we can turn to Him, He will comfort us and we don’t have to live a sorrowful life! We need to learn to become a man of prayer. Always praying and contacting the Lord!
I enjoy the message on “Knowing the Lord Who Loves You”. Love is the source of God’s salvation. It is entirely because of love that we have received grace and blessing. Our Lord’s heart is just love and His love towards us is a self-sacrificing, redeeming, inseparable, conquering, knowledge-surpassing and eternal love. The Lord does not love us in an empty way, but will take action. He died on the cross to be an offering that we may have fellowship with God and to be a sacrifice to redeem us from sins. Jeremiah 31:3b says, “I have loved you with an eternal love, therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.” Once the Lord loves us,His love toward us will never change. His love is eternal and surpassing time and will not fade away. His love for us is the highest, purest and inseparable love. Praise the Lord for the His love!
In the youth perfecting training, I enjoyed the Lord is our life. He is the incorruptible, heavenly and eternal life. He loves us and became a man, processed to become the Spirit,Today He has worked Himself into us. How we need Him! We need to be joined to Him to enjoy Him as our riches.
In the youth perfecting, I enjoy the message on education. I see that under God’s sovereignty, the young people today must study and finish school. If I want to have the proper church life, I must finish college. Failing to finish college is like sowing without having a harvest. Today the young people must till the ground, sow the seed, and water the crop by studying diligently and graduating from high school and college. But we must not do this because of anxiety. In order to be a new covenant ministers, we need to be knowledgeable. Our studying is not for ourselves but for the Lord. Hence, I am willing to spend more time on my studies, to become a vessel useful to the Lord (2 Tim. 2:21).
I enjoy the message on character training concerning being exact. To be exact is being exact in speaking and with respect to time. To be exact in speaking is to be exact both in our speaking and listening, and being exact with respect to time is to be precise in one’s work and not procrastinating. Isaiah 30:21 says, “And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it, When you turn to the right or turn to the left.” We need to exercise to listen and to read the Bible accurately; only a person who reads the Bible accurately can speak for God. This is greatly related to our character. In my daily living, I am often not exact in what I do and am always slow in my action. But the training renders me a great help, I learned to be exact in the attending to matters and to be punctual in attending the meetings. In the book Character, it is mentioned that genuineness and tightness make up exactness, which in turn is manifested in strictness. Thus, I am willing to continue exercise to be a person who is genuine, exact and strict.
In the series of character,I enjoyed that we have to be genuine. Genuine is being consistent within and without. As the children of God, we have to be genuine in person and in speech,as we are not the children of the father of liars, Satan. We always have to repent and confess our sins before the Lord for He is always genuine toward the Father. Hence, we have to be genuine towards God and not towards men. Oh Lord, let us practice to be genuine to be useful in the Lord’s hand!
I enjoyed 2 Timothy 2:21 which says, “If therefore anyone cleanses himself from these, he will be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, useful to the master, prepared unto every good work.” If we want to become the good soldiers of Christ in spirit, to fight inspirit, then we must have a plan. If anyone is loose, he will not be strict. As long as we obey the Lord daily, we will become His overcomers. Therefore, we must exercise our character to be strict, to redeem our time and seize the opportunity to love the Lord.
