Two-Week Perfecting Training for Primary Six Students (Dec 12–30, 2022)

Second Timothy 2:22 says, “But flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

Before attending the Bintulu 2-week training, I did not expect we would be doing a lot of things in the training and was even afraid that I would feel bored. However, there are many things which I could learn there. We learned how to respect our parents as Ephesians 6:2-3 says, “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise, “That it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.”. Additionally, we learned how to pray and the need of being diligent. We were also involved in many activities, including taking care of our plants and outdoor activities such as visiting the zoo in Bintulu.

I am so joyful to have met many brothers from different localities, such as Sibu, Miri and Singapore. We were arranged to do cleaning, even to clean the toilet. We also need to clean our dorm and even competed in the cleanliness contest with other dorms. The 2-week training in Bintulu was great, fun, and unforgettable experience, I would love to attend the training again.

Before attending this training in Bintulu, I couldn’t make up my mind whether to go or not. But now I can gladly announce that I didn’t regret joining the training.

At first, I was rather anxious initially due to the new environment and having to keep a tight schedule. We had to be always on time, our clothing had to be proper from head to toe, cleaning the dorm we were staying and common areas like toilets, dining hall, classroom and etc.

But gradually, I started to like the place and my companions. We had lots of opportunities to exercise our spirits and fellowship with the Lord. We had also planted some plants and the flower I planted was blooming! At the end of the training, I didn’t want to go home, and I started to miss the days I spent in the training. I appreciate to have our living regulated by a timetable during the training. Praise the Lord!

During the 2-week training, I treasure 1 Corinthians 15:33 which says, “Do not be deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals.” I have always preferred making worldly friends rather than spiritual friends. Through this training, I understood the purpose of making friends is to bring them into salvation. It is not to play games, to talk on the phone or gossip. Thank the Lord that I have many spiritual companions in this training. When I am back to my locality, I will still pursue the Lord with these companions!
